Since its proper identification, it has become a source of national viticultural identity and pride, much like Malbec in Argentina. Santa Rita’s “Reserva” Carmenere has been a big hit here at Worden’s in the daily-drinker category, and the “Medalla Real” is a big step up in both body and complexity.
